What's Happening Here?

NEW TO LIVE IMPROV?

We've got you covered on what to expect. Read on!

What is live improv?

Improv is unscripted theater. Everything you see on stage - be it the characters, stories, songs or jokes - are all made up.

Are the shows really unscripted?

Yes, all our improv shows are completely unscripted. Our performers use audience suggestions as inspiration and create from there. Nothing is pre-planned. Every show is unique.

Will  I be forced to volunteer?

For most shows: No. Typically participation is voluntary. We ask for suggestions and you can yell your ideas. If we do need a volunteer, we never force anyone up. Note: when there is an exception to this and a show format is more aggressive about interaction, that will be clearly stated in the show description.

What are suggestions?

These are words, ideas, or personal experiences given by the crowd at the start of a scene or game to inspire the performers. It's our proof to you that we didn't secretly study a script.

How long are shows?

Full length shows last 90 to 120 minutes. This time includes a 10-minute intermission. Late night or experimental shows typically run between 45 minutes to an hour and are marked as such. We can't give you an exact time because that varies along with the content.

What ratings are your shows?

We offer a variety of shows with an assortment of ratings. Check the specific listing to see if it's family-friendly or bawdy and blush-worthy.

Are there age restrictions?

Generally we provide age recommendations so everyone can make their own decisions. A few shows do have strict restrictions, but we make sure every listing is clearly marked so there are no surprises! Note: unless a show specifically says it's for families or littles, we expect all guests to bring their absolute best theater manners. A more in-depth look at this is available under our policies section.

Can I buy tickets at the door?

You can - our box office opens 30 minutes before earlier show (start before 8PM) and 15 minutes before late ones (start after 8PM). We encourage buying tickets online to take advantage of Early Bird pricing and make sure you don't miss out on a popular title.

Do you serve alcohol?

Not yet! We're working on obtaining our beer and wine permits but don't worry, you don't need any liquid libation to enjoy our shows. As a nonprofit, we can occasionally pull a temporary permit so some special events may have alcohol available - those will be clearly marked.

We have a variety of soda, water, popcorn, candy, and snack for your munching delight.

Do you sell concessions?

It's free and it's AWESOME. For evening shows, we generally have the full use of the complex's 200+ spots!
