FAQ

WHAT SHOULD I WEAR/BRING?

WEAR: Clothes you can comfortably move in. Closed-toe shoes that will stay on your feet - there's nothing worse than projectile crocs.

BRING: A water bottle (optional) and a great attitude (required).

DO I NEED TO BE FUNNY TO TAKE AN IMPOV CLASS?

Nope! In fact, trying to be funny can get in your way.

Furthermore, people take improv classes for a multitude of reasons that have nothing to do with making people laugh. If you are on the hunt to up your comedy game, we'll teach you everything you need to know to create in the moment - the funny will follow.  Promise.

CAN MY KIDDO TAKE THE ADULT IMPROV CLASS?

Short answer: No.

Long answer: We have found that having adults and youth in separate classes leads to a better experience for everyone. As we work through skills, students will invariably have imaginary relationships with each other - and even innocent relations suddenly feel awkward when the performers are of vastly different ages.  Students are already juggling enough while learning without adding a chance of accidentally coming across as a creep or putting someone else in an awkward position. We want to give ALL students the best experience possible, so we are strict about our age guidelines.

TLDR for Long answer: No.

DO I NEED PREVIOUS STAGE OR PERFORMANCE EXPERIENCE TO TAKE AN IMPROV CLASS?
Experience is always welcome, but not required to get started in improv. Our introduction classes are designed to start from the very beginning to give our students the strongest foundations for their improv journeys. So whether you're fresh from a stint as Hamlet or just stepping onto a stage for the first time, we've got you covered.

DO YOU PICK ON ANYONE?
Each other? Sometimes. Our students? Never. We pride ourselves in cultivating a supportive, fun, and engaging environment.  We ask that ALL participants treat each other with encouragement and respect. We want to ensure everyone is having a productive and enjoyable time.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT?

  • Professional, knowledgeable instructors and clear communication.

  • Each class will meet as scheduled. We often have programs before or after classes, so we try hard to begin and end on time.

  • Though actual material will vary, you can expect a mix of warm-ups, exercises, and practical applications all thoughtfully combined to reach the class's goals.
