Teen Karaoke
At CSz Boise, we believe in the power of a third place—a space beyond home and school where teens can connect, express themselves, and build community. Sociologist Ray Oldenburg described third places as vital for civic engagement, personal growth, and reducing loneliness. From cafes to libraries to theaters, these spaces create a sense of belonging. Unfortunately, the existence of such places that don't require some form of payment or purchase for being there is dwindling.
That’s why we’re hosting Free Teen Karaoke Nights at The Green Room—a welcoming, no-cost space where teens (13-19) can gather, have fun, and be themselves. No pressure, just music, friends, and connection.

Liability Disclaimer
Teen Karaoke Nights are non-structured, drop-in events. While staff and volunteers may be present, CSz Boise and The Green Room do not provide formal supervision and will not monitor when participants arrive, leave, or with whom they come and go. By allowing your teen to attend, you acknowledge that they are participating at their own discretion and risk. CSz Boise and The Green Room do not assume liability for any incidents occurring during or in connection with these events. -
Photography and Media Use
Photos and videos are often taken during our events for use on social media, in promotional materials, and on our website. Attendees may appear in these images. If you do not want your teen included in publicly shared photos or videos, please contact us in advance at CSzBoise@Gmail.com so we can honor your request.

Yep! No admission, no purchase required—just show up and sing (or hang out).
REALLY? IT'S FREE?

WHEN DOES IT HAPPEN?
Mostly on the First Thursday of every month, 7:00-9:30 PM. If a holiday or an event gets in the way, we’ll shift the date—but we won’t cancel unless absolutely necessary.
DO I NEED A TICKET?
Nope! We list some events with tickets for visibility, but Teen Karaoke is "walk-ins welcome". If we ever need tickets because of a packed house… well, that’d be a great problem to have!
WHAT IF I GET HUNGRY/THIRSTY WHEN I SING?
We’ve got snacks available for purchase! Popcorn, candy, soda—you know, the classics. You can also order food for delivery (just be neat about it). Please don’t bring food from home—we don’t want to play “Does That Tumbler Hold Something Sus?”
DO I HAVE TO SING?
Nope! Come hang out, play a game, craft, or just cheer on your friends. No pressure, just good vibes.
CAN MY OLDER FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER COME?
Yes! Each teen can bring one adult-ish guest (but adults can’t come solo—this is a teen event, not a chaperone convention).
CAN MY YOUNGER FRIEND OR FAMILY MEMBER COME?
Maybe. Teens can bring one 12-year-old guest. No one under 12—sorry, little dudes, your time will come!
CAN I BRING LOTS OF NON-TEEN PEEPS?
Love the enthusiasm, my friend, but dial it down. Each teen can bring ONE guest - older or younger as explained above.
WHAT ARE THE RULES?
Easy—act like you would in the cool teacher’s class. Keep the language clean, be respectful, and don’t do anything that’d make the “principal” shut us down.
CAN I COME EARLY/STAY LATE?
Before karaoke, we’ll probably be teaching a class. After karaoke, we’ll definitely be tired. If you get here early, please chill quietly in the lobby. If you’re waiting for a ride after, we won’t leave you stranded, but we will yawn loudly and repeatedly while we wait.
